Tina Wegmüller- Senior Business Consultant
“SimCorp cares about its employees, and for me it is the employees that make the job extra great. I have a really good network in SimCorp, and my colleagues are very professional and competent. “
Tina Wegmüller – Senior Business Consultant, with SimCorp since November 2007

I work for SimCorp as a Business Consultant, a position I have had the last four years. I work in the implementation team and spend most of my time at client sites, setting up our investment system SimCorp Dimension and teaching the clients how to use the system.
I am faced with a lot of interesting challenges through my day. I get to work with many different kinds of people, some with a very technical background and others who have a more financial non-technical background, and here one of the challenges is finding a common language to explain things in a way that everyone understands. This way my job also has a lot to do with communication. In my time with SimCorp, I have worked with different clients, mainly in Switzerland but also in other European countries. I have been involved in some very interesting projects with a lot of motivating tasks.
What is your educational background?
My educational background comprise a degree in economics and a certification as a chartered financial accountant (CFA). Hence, I am not a very technical person, but have a very good understanding of SimCorp’s business and the business of our clients.
I never get bored at my job, as no two days are the same, and there is always a broad range of topics that I can work with throughout my day. I get to meet a lot of new people and work on different projects with new clients. In longer lasting projects, one gets a close relationship with the clients, and this helps in creating an open and friendly atmosphere in my work life.
How was your start at SimCorp?
I did not find it difficult to start working in SimCorp as I already had a little experience with SimCorp Dimension before I started. Moreover, I had a solid business background from working for four years at a SimCorp client. But what helped most of all was the very friendly and cooperative atmosphere among my fellow consultants.
The job has definitely lived up to my expectations, especially when it comes to the team work. I find it is easy to talk to people, and the same goes for management who is also easy to talk to and discuss new ideas with. Communication is open and direct, regardless of where in the hierarchy.
At SimCorp, you can work independently and without being controlled. You always have a lot of empowerment but there is also always someone that you can ask if you are in doubt about anything.
My career in SimCorp has developed in the sense that, over the years, I have gotten a wider view of SimCorp Dimension, with an increased expertise within new areas. In addition, I have broadened as well as deepened my business knowledge and gained experience regarding project management. I was granted a position as Senior Business Consultant after two years, and because the system is so large, complex and always gives something new to learn, I can see myself in this role for more years to come.
What makes SimCorp an attractive work place?
SimCorp cares about its employees, and for me it is the employees that make the job extra great. I have a really good network in SimCorp, and my colleagues are very professional and competent. There is a wide distribution of knowledge, which is the result of a very knowledge-focused company. At the same time SimCorp’s employees are very down-to-earth, which means that, besides hard work, we enjoy a very social environment.
In SimCorp you get the opportunities, if you want them, and there are always tasks ready to be taken.
SimCorp also promotes talent, and there are a variety of different courses you can attend that can broaden and strengthen your competency base. I find this very positive. We also have a lot of flexibility in the job, and I’m satisfied with my work-life-balance. As long as I plan my workday to fit with the clients’ schedule, I have a lot of autonomy in terms of time management.
How is the social life in SimCorp?
SimCorp offers a lot of good social events. We have a corporate seminar every second or third year, where the whole company meets in one place and we get the chance to network with colleagues that work and live on the other side of the globe. This is extremely positive, as it is always easier to work with people that you have met face to face, and have had the chance to get to know. The social climate is good in SimCorp, with an open and very informal way of communicating.
