Acting responsibly is part of our DNA at SimCorp. Sustainability is about reducing climate change, but it’s also about enabling sustainable ESG investing, ensuring responsible business behavior, and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion among people and letting them grow.
Our sustainability agenda aligns with our business strategy, as we gradually integrate our sustainability efforts across business processes and operations, product innovation, client services, and engagement with our people and stakeholders.

Commitments and stakeholder expectations united
In 2023, we conducted a double materiality assessment, which identifies the ESG topics where our business has material social and environmental impact, and the ESG topics which may have material financial impact on SimCorp's future performance.
The outcome has confirmed that our people, responsible product innovation, data privacy and security, and strong governance are key impact areas. Based on the outcome, we have updated our commitments and related goals and activities to ensure progress in addressing our ESG impact areas.
Reduce Carbon Footprint
How we’re reducing our own and our clients’ carbon footprint
There is an urgent need to mitigate climate change to protect the planet and people. As greenhouse gas emissions constitute our most material environmental impact, we commit to decarbonize our offerings and operations.
We calculate and monitor our emissions and seek opportunities for decarbonization until 2030 in line with the Deutsche Börse Group targets. For example, by:
- Moving our own and our clients’ operations from on-premise data centers to the cloud (mainly Microsoft Azure) for improved data center energy efficiency
- Exploring new ways of developing and delivering energy-efficient solutions and services to improve overall carbon footprint for our clients
- Working towards reducing air travel and improving virtual collaboration
Achievements for 2023
- Rolled out of global environmental training for employees.
- Prepared for our CSRD reporting – assessing readiness and conducting a double materiality assessment.
- Researched and calculated SImCorp’s emissions for employee commuting.
- Improved CDP score from D to B-.
