SimCorp is looking for a student assistant to join one of our front office teams. Here we build some of the most end-user oriented modules of our company-wide solution called SimCorp Dimension. As a student assistant you will be part of a development team of about 8 people, mostly developers and testers. You will participate in daily work, implement functionality, ensure high quality through tests, and gain insights into the considerations, challenges and strengths of an enterprise architecture. And, of course, you will get practical experience with both hard and soft skills needed for a professional developer.
If you stay with SimCorp beyond your study time, you will also find ample opportunity to explore and grow within other parts of the company, e.g. in more backend areas, in other roles, or in other locations/countires.
The main task is to understand customer requirements and wishes as explained in the team backlog, to implement these in code using mainly C#, to write tests using our common framework, and to do this in a proactive, iterative and cooperative way with the rest of your team. You will thus need skills like:
- Knowledge of object oriented programming
- An understanding of software architecture
- The ability to speak, read, and write English on a professional level, since almost all work is done in English
- Knowledge of agile - e.g. SAFe or Scrum - is an advantage but not a requirement
Personality-wise a proactive attitude and an ability to continuously improve how you work and what you do will get you far. If you combine it with a habit of learning new things on a regular basis, you have a winning combination.
