Accounting - Student Assistant

The position

SimCorp Dimension is one of the world's leading investment management software systems, used globally by international financial institutions and equity funds. Due to our continued expansion, we are looking for a finance or accounting intern to support our North America Finance team.

This internship will provide an undergraduate student interested in accounting within the financial technology and asset management industries with a solid understanding of the internal finance process. It will also provide an immersive view into how SimCorp Dimension provides value and solutions to our clients, as a cutting-edge financial technology company. This internship offers entry level experience into the industry, and into internal finance and accounting functions.

The Finance team is responsible for the business’s Control and FP&A functions, and operates as both a source of strategic leverage for our business lines, and as a service organization to internal stakeholders in the context of broader business goals. This position will primarily involve working with the North American Finance team, and will report to the Senior Business Controller. The successful candidate will perform a mix of accounting and administrative financial work, and must be passionate about working with their internal colleagues at the highest level. The position will be for approximately 20 hours per week during the semester, with the opportunity to move to 40 hours per week over the summer break.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end financial close
  • Application of cash receipts
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Work with the Finance team on monthly expense analysis
  • Assist with Travel & Expense Report audits and A/P activity

Your qualifications

  • Third year undergraduate majoring in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
