Business Development Representative – New Business (Frankfurt area)

Why this role is important to us

In this role you will perform discovery on target prospects in order to identify new business opportunities for the sales team in the DACH region. You will be responsible for qualifying new prospects primarily by phone, social media and email. You will work closely with the sales, presales, marketing and Go to Market teams. We are looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. We expect you to come to the office in Bad Homburg approx. two days a week.  

The Business Development Representative reports to the Head of EMEA Sales. The role will be measured by prospect pipeline development in support of new business.

What you will be responsible for

  • Performing account discovery based on ideal prospect profile criteria and documenting the resulting account intelligence in prescribed sales tools. 
  • Screening, qualifying and nurturing inbound marketing leads using SimCorp’s sales best practices. 
  • Effectively initiating communication via phone, email and social media and interacting with relevant stakeholders. 
  • Providing product and solution information to prospect, keeping up-to-date on knowledge of the industry as well as competitive position of our company. 
  • Building relationships through prospecting and marketing lead follow up. 
  • Managing target recruitment for SimCorp marketing events and other campaigns to enhance prospect and client interest.

You will contribute to the teamwork by

  • Working closely with Sales and Marketing team to ensure that a consistent message is communicated to our prospects and business partners. 
  • Providing feedback on marketing campaigns based on information gathered, to support campaign. 
  • Entering leads and contacts and maintaining account information in Salesforce in a timely fashion. 
  • Identifying prospect buying intent using SimCorp’s digital platforms to analyze engagement with SimCorp content and campaigns. 
  • Supporting sales with appointment setting and nurturing of opportunities for sales funnel.

  • Several years relevant work experience in a similar position, ideally from a capital markets firm, a software solutions provider servicing the buy-side or sell-side markets, the financial services industry or a consultancy firm.   
  • A basic understanding of capital markets, investment operations and portfolio management systems via studies or professional experience. Knowledge of the investment management industry (e.g. Asset Management) would be an advantage. 
  • Great communication skills and techniques (oral and business writing). 
  • Resilience and commitment to reach your goals. 
  • Ability to make high volume of phone calls and sell ideas and concepts that leads to prospect/client engagements. 
  • Knowledge of phone, email and conversation techniques needed to identify the person in a company responsible for a specific initiative or business unit. 
  • Very good research skills using online channels such as corporate websites and LinkedIn to identify target stakeholders in prospect and client accounts. 
  • Experience maintaining client/prospect data in CRM systems. We use Salesforce.com. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint). 
  • German skills on native speaker level and fluency English.
