Head of IT Operations

Location: Copenhagen - Headquarters, DK

SimCorp Group IT is looking for a Senior IT Operations Manager, who can play a key role in leading and executing the SimCorp Foundational IT and Operation for future growth. 


The position 

SimCorp Group IT is looking for a skilled and ambitious Head of our IT Operations team, who have the drive and execution power to lead and transform the SimCorp Foundational IT to future needs for the company.  

You will be responsible for delivering the IT infrastructure, services, equipment, and tools to SimCorp business units, offices and users. This includes several Cloud Services, Datacenters, and IT to all SimCorp offices globally. You will be the main driver of our IT Operations and infrastructure development, from daily activities to longer term planning, architecture and design based on agreed strategies and technical roadmap.  

IT Operation team consist of 12 experienced and skilled IT Specialists, placed in 5 offices, mainly in Copenhagen. The Team is part of our IT Service & Operations Department. You will be responsible for running the IT Operations team, including People Management, daily operation and 3rd line support. You will also be included in executing our project portfolio in cooperation with Project managers and the IT Management team. 

We are looking for a self-starter with experience in IT Management and IT Operations, who thrives in a busy and exciting environment. You have a sense for keeping focus on achieving the goal, have strong execution and coordination skills and the ability to communicate easily with stakeholders, business units, IT users and vendors. 


In Group IT we are 60 employees, responsible for delivering, installing, maintaining and supporting SimCorps internal IT infrastructure, platforms and business applications. In the IT Service & Operations department, we are 30 colleagues split into in 2 teams, placed in 11 SimCorp offices globally. You will therefore have a close cooperation with stakeholders working in another office or time zone. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for stable and timely delivery of IT services and solutions 

  • People management for IT Operations department 

  • Developing and executing on roadmaps, new IT solutions and projects in corporation with other IT teams and IT management.

  • Vendor management and IT Operations budgets

  • Managing prioritization and urgent requirements, liaising with stakeholders. 

  • Act as a strong sparring partner with stakeholders, team and senior management 

Your qualifications:

  • Experience in leading IT Operations team or larger IT programs, preferably within an international IT company. 

  • Experience in people management, and preferably with virtual and remote leadership across time-zones 

  • Strong execution power and drive to deliver on agreed strategies and roadmaps, this includes to drive architecture forum and future IT setup. 

  • Relevant IT- or business-related background with degree or certifications.  

  • Experience in communicating with vendors, business units and users, across offices, time-zones and cultures. Strong collaboration skills across multiple levels and functions.  

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English is a requirement including strong presentation and teaching skills including technical areas

  • Can keep the overview and still stay focused on the detail 

  • Able to keep focus on several things simultaneously and keep a cool head 

  • Excellent communication and listening skills – quick to understand the issue at hand

  • Humble with a good sense of humor
