Position Summary:
Oracle Database Administrators are skilled professionals who form part of our Professional Services team working within Managed Services.
The main purpose of the role is to contribute to the successful application management and maintenance of SimCorp clients by ensuring a trouble-free performing underlying Oracle Databases. They work together in a team of Oracle Database Administrators and other Delivery IT Consultants in providing support and advice to existing clients in their day-to-day work with SimCorp Dimension.
Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Database Administrator you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Oracle Databases used in various SimCorp systems at our clients
You will be executing Database Administrator related tasks such as installing Oracle databases and patches, defining backup strategies ad DR solutions, trouble shooting of performance issues, optimizing SQL queries and answering Oracle related product questions
You will be involved in system capacity planning for future projected database growth
You will setup and maintain Monitoring and Alerting of databases and executing proactive health checks
You will be able to give our customers advice and guidance on infrastructure and technical questions related to Oracle
You will maintain close contact with your colleagues in the Oracle network within SimCorp and communicate errors, enhancement requests and operational documentation with your product division colleagues in our head quarter in Copenhagen
Your Profile
A degree in computer science
Certified as an Oracle Database Administrator and proven Oracle Database Administration experiences
Experience with RAC, Active Data Guard and other Oracle Database related products
Extensive experience with Oracle in an Microsoft or Unix environment
Exposure to LANs, WANs, Citrix Metaframe, Microsoft technologies including XP, Server 2003, SQL Server and XML, etc
Good communication & people skills
You have excellent analytical skills and are used to working in a structured way.
You are good at working on & prioritizing multiple tasks at the same time
Service-minded and stress resistant
You enjoy working in a team
Ability to travel sporadically
Ability to work on weekends (approx. once per months) and occasionally extended hour to support our clients
