Project Manager – Implementations

THE FUNCTION

SimCorp North America is building out our Project Management Service Line, with a focus on improving commercial and delivery management of SimCorp offers and maximizing the delivery efficiency of our increasingly complex and transformative projects.  We are building a strong, agile, and skilled Project Management community to best manage client expectations and engagement. We are looking for experienced Senior Project Managers to manage the delivery of SimCorp Dimension and related services at asset managers, fund managers, banks, insurance companies and pension plans across the US and Canada. 

Project Managers and Project Manager Principals will be responsible for all aspects of the implementation projects with primary focus on high complexity projects/programs and clients in terms of client engagement, resource and financial management, and stakeholder complexity. They will lead project execution with a focus on providing greater customer value and outcomes while better measuring and reducing risk for SimCorp.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently manages multiple implementation-related workstreams in the project, identifying all required tasks, dependencies, working with business consultants to time/resource estimate for inclusion in the overall program plan, as well as providing regular status updates.
  • Manages all aspects of the SimCorp implementation across products and services, including clarification and design, configuration, data conversion, integration, testing and training.
  • Manages Sales handover to the Consulting Services and plans to initiate project, develops the project plan and executes the project.
  • Applies industry standard project management techniques in a services organization to define and manage scope and risks/issues.
  • Establishes and manages transparent project governance structure and adheres to standard project management processes and procedures. Manages delivery on time, budget, and quality relative to the baseline project plan and associated financials and in accordance with the Statement of Work.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time effectively, sets goals and objectives, organizes and schedules other people and their tasks, develops realistic action plans. Follows through and completes plans.
  • Facilitates business requirements gathering workshops during Clarification and Design phase of the project. Controls all project activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of time to value and outcomes, even when it involves difficult client conversations. Responds promptly to clients' needs and educates customers to understand insights.
  • Positions SimCorp’s products and services highlighting how the customers' needs are best met by our best practice standard products. Builds a strong, collaborative, and transparent relationship with SimCorp’s customers.
  • Contributes to improving and documenting best practices for implementation projects in the US and Canada. Works closely with Global Project Management service line and Project Management Office.
  • Has a collaborative mindset, promoting win-win solutions for both the Customer and SimCorp. Understands that negotiation is required to drive a successful outcome for all stakeholders.

  • Clearly communicates business challenges, including risks and issues, to our customers. Effectively solicits customer feedback and puts the customer in a position to make informed decisions using data and metrics.
  • Demonstrates the ability to set and manage client expectations and actively manages project financials.
  • Takes ownership of the project/program and is always able to articulately report back on them. Works on solutions in dialogue with the customer and finds good compromises and displays creative problem solving.
  • Involves internal stakeholders in an appropriate and timely manner to resolve critical project issues.
  • Ensures teams and team members are sufficiently enabled and have the necessary tools to deliver the required outcomes. Displays a very clear understanding of the SimCorp processes and procedures to deliver a body of work as outcomes.
  • Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of the SimCorp Project Management communities, standards, and processes.
  • Actively articulates, identifies, quantifies, manages, and mitigates risks. Ensures that teams regularly engage in continuous improvement through lessons learnt processes.

  • Flexibility to travel to customer sites within the US or Canada as needed

Your qualifications 

You have an excellent understanding of our clients’ business processes across asset managers, fund managers, banks, insurance companies and pension plans. You have a proven track record in delivering multi-stream projects in complex business environments. Further, you possess the following qualifications: 

  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to motivate and engage employees

  • Ability to make sound decisions by pursuing ways to balance quality, cost, risk and resources 
  • Great time management and prioritization skills 
  • Excellent planning, execution, and coordination skills

  • Strong negotiation, influencing and conflict management skills  
  • Fluency in English
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience  
  • PMI/Prince 2 or equivalent certification 
  • Readiness to travel to customer sites with flexibility to work from home or remote from our offices
