Senior Business Consultant - Financial Accounting Solutions in Fintech

Location: Bad Homburg, DE; Vienna, AT

Do you want to be part of a team delivering implementation projects? Do you want to grow your career in an international company at the intersection of Finance and IT? We would like to hear from you!

The position

SimCorp is a global provider of investment management software solutions and services to international financial institutions.  SimCorp continuously enhances the portfolio of offerings to remain at the forefront of industry technology and trends. Our front to back system SimCorp Dimension® is used by more than 200 clients world-wide.

In this role you will join our Accounting & Operations team and be part of the Accounting Book of Records (ABOR) Service Line. The team’s mission is to implement financial accounting solutions in SimCorp Dimension and for our clients. You will contribute to implementation projects and build bridges between our customers and our innovative software.

We are looking for a candidate with some knowledge and experience in accounting for financial instruments - in particular established accounting rules, such as IAS 39, IFRS 9 or local GAAP in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

Your journey in SimCorp starts with our three weeks’ SimCorp Dimension® Academy. You will learn our software system “hands-on”. Your intro will also be supported by a coach from your team who will guide you in the first few months in SimCorp.

What you will be responsible for

  • Introduce parts of SimCorp Dimension in implementation projects
  • Advise on the best market practices for workflows and processes in accounting and operations and act as a trusted advisor to the client
  • Design and configure solutions across modules and project streams that enable our clients to reach their desired outcomes
  • Improve and advise on best practices for implementation processes as well as product and service offerings
  • Identify opportunities for growth and explore new ideas, feeding this back to the organization and supporting its development
  • Instruct and mentor less experienced team members on the job and share knowledge with colleagues on an international level

What we value

Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the position described above. How you gained the skills needed for doing that is less important. We expect you to be good at several of the following and be able to - and interested in - learning the rest.

  • Work experience as an Analyst or Consultant, for example from working at an asset manager, asset servicer, insurer or consulting firm
  • Knowledge about some of the elements in investment accounting such as IAS 39, IFRS 9 or local GAAP (e.g. UGB in Austria or HGB in Germany) or in fund accounting
  • Hands-on experiences with accounting of financial instruments and life-cycle events or accounting closing processes and financial reporting are desirable

  • Ideally experience in implementing and configuring software
  • Very good communication and consulting skills
  • Good German and English skills
  • This consultant job does not require frequent travelling: Most of your work can be done from your home office or from SimCorp’s offices. This means great flexibility for your individual life balance.
  • Some readiness to travel with flexibility to work from home or from our offices for our clients

Besides an attractive salary and bonus scheme we believe we can offer more. We provide a great work life balance: a hybrid workplace model and flexible work hours, well-being weeks and a sabbatical program – just to mention a few.  And there is never just only one route to professional development - we practice an individual approach to support the direction you want to take.  Explore our career opportunities over time – on a national or international level. Find out which role suits you best individually as your next step - be it Business Consultant Principal or Project Manager or a global role such as Solution Architect. To support your journey we offer training and mentoring programs and you will obtain relevant certifications.
