Senior Cloud Engineer - PaaS

About the role:

Our engineers deploy and maintain PaaS services to our growing clients globally.  You will be part of a team that will work with developers and platform partners.  Our team are key contributors to stable 24x7 operations through case triage and fixing.  Promoting an open mind-set to preventative and automated reduction of errors and bugs.  Continuously optimizing, and stabilizing deployed infrastructure

A. TECHNOLOGY QUALIFICATION

Essential

  • Physical/Virtual infrastructure knowledge
  • Proficient in Networking
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operation system
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server Components
  • Windows Server Administration
  • Security and Authentication concepts
  • Working knowledge Azure and underlying technologies

Desirable

  • Understanding of GITHUB, Ansible and Azure Dev Ops will be an asset
  • Basic Understanding of Linux
  • Knowledge of Database Technologies – Cosmos DB, SQL, ORACLE
  • Citrix and Citrix Cloud support

B. ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of Infrastructure operational experience – support, maintenance, and administration
  • 1+ years’ experience working with Microsoft Azure public cloud
  • Identify and proactively resolved a broad range of problems that occur in production application
  • Take charge of outages, lead and coordinate calls until resolution, and ensure root causes are found and resolved
  • Investigate existing codes and contribute fixed where applicable
  • Work with Dev/Ops or vendor partner to solve productivity challenges and drive efficiency
  • Knowledge about ITIL Service Operations - Incidents, Problems, and Changes

  • Quick learner - curious to learn, explore and innovate to deliver reliability for our SaaS services
  • Independent starter - have courage to step into the unknown, be innovative and take the initiative
  • Team Player - collaborate across boundaries, build rapport with colleagues to share knowledge and solve problems

D. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in Day-to-Day operations for our clients. Including weekend/holiday rotation
  • Co-ordinate high priority production incidents and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams to solve the issue and to make recommendations to prevent future occurrences
  • Continuously provide feedback to our developers to Improve reliability, functionality, quality, and efficiency of our SaaS infrastructure solution
  • Develop strategies to achieve our availability targets and incorporate preventive and corrective measures
  • Ensure optimal performance, capacity and efficiency is met across multiple cloud subscriptions
  • Solve scaling and availability problems
  • Take part in the collective responsibility to build our knowledge foundation through trial, errors, and successes
  • Document and track open cases through tools like JIRA, ServiceNow, and Salesforce
  • Occasional travel is expected
