Senior Network Cloud Engineer - PaaS

About PaaS Operations:

At SimCorp, jobs within Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) Operations, are technology specialist tasked with leading the deployment, testing, integration, and daily operation of public and private cloud hosted platforms running SimCorp Dimension. 

About the role:

Senior Cloud Engineers are highly skilled network infrastructure professionals.  Providing best-of-class services that support our core application – SimCorp Dimension!  They are initiative-takers and can hit-the-ground running; comfortably working independently or as part of a team!

S/he will be the PaaS network SME for our cloud-based infrastructure and operations.  You will be part of a team that will work with developers and platform partners. Globally, our team are key contributors to stable 24x7 operations.  Promoting an open mind-set to preventative and automated reduction of errors and bugs.  Continuously optimizing, and stabilizing deployed infrastructure

A. TECHNOLOGY QUALIFICATION

Essential/Must Have

  • Experienced with IPSEC site-to-site VPN, remote access VPN, ACLs, MPLS, and SFTP.
  • Servers and components -Active Directory, DNS, Group Policies / OS – Windows, Unix/Linux
  • Operational with firsthand experience working on Azure platforms and underlying technologies.
  • Proficient in networking and cloud native network components.
  • Development/automation/scripting knowledge.

Desirable

  • Supported critical application that operate in multi-client and private/public hosted platform.
  • Familiar with XMGR and API management services.
  • Investigated existing scripts/codes and contribute fixes where applicable.
  • Worked with ITIL Service Operations - Incidents, Problems, and Changes

B. ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of Infrastructure operational experience – support, maintenance, and administration
  • Worked w/ FW/gateways and CDNs – Palo Alto, Cloud Guard, Checkpoint, and Azure Front Door.  Maintain and upgrade virtual appliances, firewall rules, VPN tunnels and IPS policy.
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based network architectures - WAN, firewalls, load balancers, VPN gateways, and other network components.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring uptime and availability.
  • Azure network resource management and troubleshooting, including VNETs, NICs, route tables, network peering, NSGs, etc.
  • Develop and implement network security best practices to protect against threats and attacks.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation; incl diagrams, configurations, policies, & SOP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external clients to plan and implement new network infrastructure projects and upgrades, such as VPN solutions.
  • Perform network capacity planning and scalability assessments.
  • Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations on their suitability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as SOC 2

D. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prior experience in maintaining and upkeep of virtual appliances, firewall rules, VPN tunnels and IPS policy.
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based network architectures, including routers, firewalls, load balancers, VPN gateways, and other network components.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring uptime and availability of network services.
  • Azure network resource management and troubleshooting, including VNETs, NICs, route tables, network peering, NSGs, etc.
  • Develop and implement network security best practices to protect against potential threats and attacks.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, policies, and standard operating and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external clients to plan and implement new network infrastructure projects and upgrades, such as VPN solutions.
  • Perform network capacity planning and scalability assessments.
  • Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations on their suitability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as SOC 2
  • Occasional travel expected.
