Senior Product Owner, Connectivity

We are looking for a Senior Product Owner specialized in Connectivity with a good understanding of the business processes of our clients in the Investment Management industry. 

The position 

SimCorp’s Product Development is home to more than 650 skilled and creative technology professionals, organized in more than 75 agile teams. The mission of the teams in the Connectivity area is to develop and improve generic toolboxes for customizing connectivity workflows in SimCorp Dimension, our investment management software system, and to develop interfaces to external vendors such as Bloomberg or SWIFT.  

As a Senior Product Owner, you are having the ownership to drive the strategy of the Connectivity area further based on an outcome-driven approach to deliver value to our clients.  

Your responsibilities 

  • Being recognized as SME in Connectivity area by clients and internal stakeholders and supporting Pre-Sales, Consulting and Customer Support in your domain  
  • Own and drive the dialogue with our clients including Development Partnerships 
  • Understand user needs through interaction with client end users  
  • Ownership (build, refine, maintain, and prioritize) of the product backlog in collaboration with the Offer Manager 
  • Understand the commercial position of the business and the entire delivery value chain  
  • Proactively secure alignment of functional dependencies and priorities with Product Owners inside and outside of your own Product Area  
  • Work closely with the development team to bring the client aspect into the value-creation process 
  • Own, prioritize and maintain the team’s backlog 
  • Together with the team, define user stories, drive refinement, establish acceptance criteria and accept stories 
  • Facilitate system demos and involve relevant stakeholders – both internal and external 
  • Apply Agile principles to your work, encourage teams to follow them, leading Agility by example 

  

Your qualifications

  • Knowledge of the business processes in Investment Management, especially in the Connectivity area including integration with SWIFT, data providers like Bloomberg, Refinitiv, WM Datenservice, and others used by our clients. 
  • Good knowledge of SimCorps existing Connectivity technology like Comm Server and existing standard interfaces would be a plus.  
  • Strategic mindset and strong analytical skills with focus on business outcome and complete offers 
  • Experience in business and system analysis, stakeholder management, backlog prioritization 
  • Strong facilitator and presentation skills 
  • A positive spirit but with authority to "control" an uncontrolled inflow of backlog items 
  • Ability and willingness to encourage and motivate teams and peers, drive improvements across the Product Owners community 
  • Fluent in English 
  • Experience working with SimCorp Dimension will be an advantage, but not a requirement 
  • Personal qualities: proactive, fast-learner, high-quality mindset, responsible
  • A degree in Finance, Economics and similar alongside experience in the financial services sector  is an advantage
