The position

We are looking for a Senior Business Consultant to join our EMEA Consulting Services team which aims for consulting excellency, efficiency in configuration and standardization, knowledge sharing and collaboration across divisions and market units. You will be part of the Platform Service Line. This Service Line is responsible for the deployment of the technology platform and implementation of connectivity solutions. It covers 3 main areas:

  • Connectivity - how SimCorp Dimension® connects to and interacts with external systems and solutions
  • Platform Technologies - the technology stack used for SimCorp Dimension®
  • Operational Efficiencies - services to access, process and automate the usage of SimCorp Dimension®.

In your role you will also be exposed to the whole SimCorp value chain from Front Office to Back Office, focused on the Platform Technologies

As part of your induction you will be ‘hands-on’ in our software system and attend the three-weeks’ SimCorp Dimension Academy. 

Your responsibilities  

  • Participate in implementation projects with our on-premises clients, to provide smooth systems operations, client satisfaction:
    • Define, together with the client, the target technical architecture including server’s layout, high-availability disaster recovery architecture, backup strategies, security
    • You conduct workshops to explore client requirements and suggest the most adapted solution
    • Run the initial installations of SimCorp Dimension, ensuring that the prerequisites are fulfilled and that the best practices are followed
    • Define the maintenance procedures, like patching, installing license files, cloning installations, and document them
    • Guide the clients to integrate SimCorp Dimension in their management tools, such as batch schedulers, system automation tools and system monitoring tools
    • Support the functional implementation team, solving technical issues and performance problems
  • Plan and perform release upgrades for SimCorp Dimension fully independently to make the full value of the latest version available to the client, while maintaining excellent customer relationships with IT staff at the clients and be regarded as a trusted advisor by the client to foster a mutually beneficial partnership long-term
    • Delivering the software and running the initial test upgrade
    • Running the production upgrade, often on week-ends
  • Run autonomously holistic technical analysis to solve performance and stability issues on client installations, embracing network, operating system, database, and SimCorp Dimension product aspects.
  • Deploy new technical modules at clients, in new areas where REST APIs are more and more used.
  • Execute, enhance and develop technical operational services and assessments such as capacity review projects, information lifecycle management, technical configuration management and database management to optimize the Oracle database and technical environment of SimCorp Dimension at clients to prepare for business growth and ensure cost efficiency and system stability
  • Occasionally support our sales teams, participating in RFPs, system architecture presentations, product demos and client workshops
  • Co-operate closely with other technical experts within SimCorp on a local and global level, and share knowledge to ensure efficient solutions for the clients
  • Identify needs for additional services and solutions which would improve the customer’s operations, recommend these internally and support the presales process to offer added value for the client
  • You constantly expand your knowledge of SimCorp Dimension and the clients’ business to ensure that clients get the optimal value/ outcome out of their Simcorp Dimension usage
  • You contribute to the knowledge sharing within service line projects and tasks
  • You contribute to improving best practices for implementation processes and promote topics across projects
  • You actively participate in know how exchange with colleagues on an international level

Your qualifications  

  • Experienced with infrastructure services for SimCorp Dimension or other large financial services software products
  • Windows Server administration, installation and setup of server features
    • Knowledge of security features
    • Analysis of performance counters
    • Security features, certificates management
  • Oracle Database experience
    • Daily operations and problem solving of monitoring platforms like OEM, middleware and interfacing, file systems, and database.
    • Experienced with DB management, high availability, RMAN, data warehouse, and sizing
    • Performance tuning skills: Analysis of AWR, understanding wait events and all possible bottlenecks. SQL Statement tuning.
  • Scripting and development knowledge : Powershell, use of REST APIs through Python, C# or Java
  • Azure cloud (fundamentals and administration) is a plus
  • Understand mission-critical applications and HA environments.
  • Good communication and consulting skills, customer orientation and quality consciousness
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Team spirit and a desire to share your knowledge
  • Fluency in English, additional language abilities would be of advantage
  • Readiness to travel
