Senior/Lead Software Engineer for Innovations area

In addition to Alternative Investments where we constantly enhance our solution, Private Debt is booming in the market and we see a high demand from our existing and potential clients. Consequently SimCorp have decided to build an efficient and attractive solution to manage this new part of illiquid investments as well, aiming to replicate the success we have with our Alternatives Manager.

As part of our scrum team, you will play a crucial role in delivering solutions for Private Debt and Alternative Investments while working closely with Offer Managers and engaging directly with clients You will work with a codebase primarily based on C# and APL, in a culture that values trust and teamwork.

What you will be responsible for:

You will apply your talents to all stages of the development lifecycle, including creation and review of user stories, development, design, testing, coding, code reviews, writing automated tests, and support. You will be using multiple technologies, and your responsibilities will also include: 

  • Develop new core functionality to support the business modules and continuous improvements to the existing code base

  • Expand existing solutions in all areas of SimCorp Dimension for the usage of Private Debt and Alternatives

  • Work as part of your scrum team to reach the definition of done within each sprint

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and get fast feedback  

  • Constantly learn and improve yourself, the team and our product incl. experimenting with modern engineering practices such as test-driven development, SpecFlow and Mob programming  

What we value:

  • Master’s degree/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar 
  • Ability to work with and develop complex architecture front and back end
  • Comfortable with changing code that you did not build in several areas like for example Front & Middle Office, Accounting and Connectivity.
  • Broad SimCorp Dimension knowledge, especially in Accounting & Operations is a plus
  • Strong willingness to learn and to dig into unknown areas
  • Being comfortable to work with new technologies
  • Knowledge of or curiosity to learn APL
  • Being adventurous - able to work in one direction and fast turn into another one
  • A high sense of quality, ability to work to deadlines, attention to detail and taking ownership of delivering a sound solution
  • A desire to constantly deliver value to the clients, to improve yourself and the team  
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written) 
  • Understanding of the Lean Agile practices, values and principles would be a plus 
  • Programming experience in object-oriented languages, preferably in C# using .NET framework
