What does your job entail? As Lead Business Analyst it is my job to scope the needs and wants of the customers, so the engineers at SimCorp can implement the best functionalities. This means I have direct contact with the customers, and work as a mediator across the entire SimCorp value chain. I really enjoy working in both “camps” – I get to understand business developers’ scenarios and work with platform developers to create the right solutions and business features. Not many companies are big enough to take on larger platform developments by themselves, but that is why SimCorp is a perfect match for me.
What do you think about the work environment? I find that there is a willingness at SimCorp to move collectively as an organization, and that everyone has a desire to evolve and make SimCorp Dimension better. As my projects are strategic, tactical and operational, I have many points of contact within the company. All around, I get to spar with my colleagues and get constructive feedback, and I feel I get support with my ideas. Working in an international company is great – I work in Denmark, my boss is based in London, and we work with colleagues and clients all over the world. This gives us a broad perspective on how the software is utilized in different markets.
What is the best part of your job? Being Lead Business Analyst here at SimCorp means that I am at the forefront of a new, cutting-edge framework for team-based agile software development. To be part of a team that builds large systems in a component-based way with interacting services is a dream come true. We have to solve the challenging task of making the complex easy, as our customers’ issues are very complicated. Calculations have to be fast and correct and the system simple for the users to use. This never gets boring and it offers a great potential for personal development so I can see myself staying here for many years.”
