What does your job entail? As a Senior Business Consultant, I am the point of contact between clients and SimCorp's offices in Denmark, Ukraine and France. I am helping bridge the gap between investment management and IT solutions by understanding the needs and challenges of the client and use this knowledge to come up with the best solution. I like to work right in the center of two industries – investment management and IT solutions. When I started in SimCorp’s office in France, we were nine people. Now, we are close to 50 – and it’s rewarding to see the role that we all played in this development.
How does collaboration work at SimCorp? I would say that we work borderless – both in terms of geography, but also between the different business units. I do most of my work in teams and work closely with colleagues in offices all over the world – I have a good go-to-guy, who I can call for advice in every country. I think it is great that we can rely on each other like that, and in many ways SimCorp has made me team player. I feel that the atmosphere of collaboration and support makes the massive SimCorp team feel like a small community of experts – all working towards the same common goal.
What is the work environment like? We have a flat hierarchy at SimCorp. Everyone at SimCorp talks openly to each other, which creates a great working atmosphere. The framework we work with is large, complex, and constantly changing; you learn to make quick decisions and understand the bigger picture. Also, everyone at SimCorp has a high level of expertise in both finance and IT software, and I feel that I learn a lot from my skilled colleagues every day. If you stop learning at your job, it becomes far too boring – and life at SimCorp is never boring!
