SimCorp webinar addresses challenges with growth and regulatory requirements

Leading consultancy TowerGroup to speak on SimCorp webinar on 15 March 2011 on the impact of new regulation on growth in the investment management industry and how new regulation will cause investment management companies to redirect their IT budgets.

Following on the heels of the global, financial crisis, progressively more legislative regulation has been initiated to increase control and supervision. Many steps have already been taken; Solvency II, UCITS IV, IFRS 9, Basel III and the Dodd-Frank Act to mention a few – all of which are instituted to secure the sound operation of the financial institutions and the assets they manage on behalf of clients. As a consequence, financial institutions are under growing pressure to comply with different types of regulation, often for various authorities, board and owners, without losing sight of its main purpose; growing the business.

This webinar entitled “The regulatory challenge: compliance and growth” will feature Dushyant Shahrawat, senior research director at TowerGroup, who will address the challenge of how to overcome the increasing amount of regulatory requirements with the proper IT infrastructure in place.

SimCorp’s webinar will also feature Merele A. May, senior vice president of investment operations at American Century Investments, who will provide a first-hand report on how the right investment management IT platform has helped American Century Investments realise its growth ambitions while satisfying regulatory requirements.
